POST 4: Lecture Native American - Gothic Architecture

Based on the discussion we had in class and from the lecture, I believe Native American architecture is highly underappreciated. Early Native American architecture was highly advanced for the time period it was created in. In the lecture, one fact that was mentioned was that Native American societies created irrigation to help sustain their permanent settlements. I have heard the term irrigation for many years now and never once knew it dated back to the Natives. I think it's so interesting how much they could do with what little they had. They were also highly advanced in trade routes, which I don't understand how it is possible because of the lack of timely communication they had access to. It is quite astonishing to think how advanced they got with creating things from nature. They didn't have access to phones or cars and yet they still created a lot.

The Greeks also created a lot from nothing which can be shown in their colosseums/theaters. It really does confuse me yet amaze me at the same time because of how they were all able to build amphitheaters and design it for high quality sound due to the lack of microphones.

Overall, I think all the cultures we learned about this past class used their imagination to create items and concepts that we would probably only learn about know because of the internet.
